Ad Lingo

Ad lingo is an on going project I am working with alongside a creative team to create a visual dictionary of all the odd and weird terms used in the advertising industry.
I started with creating a visual identity for the project, focusing on a simple 3D illustration style with a contained colour palette – which would allow me to keep the each illustration consistent and hopefully aid in the creation. Then, working from a list of terms the team pulled together, I began illustrating each of the dictionary entries. The extra bit of fun is finding ways to include double meanings, puns or some level of humour into the illustrations, which I think help give more life to the book and distinguish it from being a simple series of definitions. I also animated a couple of the words as sneak peaks of the projects on social media.
I am currently about half way through the first batch of words (approximately 150). Once those are all done we aim to launch the accompanying website and first edition of the printed book. So watch this space!
